2 weeks

July 30, 2007

Emily is in town for a week. It has been 2yrs since she was in town last! So, a handful of girls got together at Sufficient Grounds last night to catch up. I know these girls from River Market Church we were a part of a few years ago. It was soooo good to sit and visit with them. I almost forgot how much I enjoy doing these type of outings!!! Why do I let so much time pass without doing this! I felt very refreshed when I left and it was just a simple outing, nothing extravagant. So, I want to make it a point to initiate more get togethers without my children. It was really good to see Emily. She has the best laugh!!! I miss it. Thanks Emily for making time to come see all of your LR/NLR friends, it has been wonderful. Good friends are such a blessing.

Eli

July 23, 2007

With all the excitement of Lucy’s arrival I have been asked how Eli has been doing. Well, starting the week before Lucy got here he has had quite the special treatment! The pictures below are in no particular order. He had his Gramma Gari here for a little over a week. And of course my mom, Nana Patti, was here quite a bit. Along with many other family members and friends that came by to visit. There was lots of laughing, jumping on beds, movie watching, water playing and of course fits here and there 🙂 You can’t have all that spoiling going on with a 1 1/2 yr old and avoid fits……..come to think of it, you can’t avoid them no matter what! Since Lucy has arrived he hasn’t really given her much thought. It’s almost as if she has always been here. He will look into her basinet and tell us “seepin” or if he sees her booties or burp cloth he will bring it to her. Otherwise he continues on like normal. For instance, he likes to jump on me occasionally and has no problem doing that whether I am holding her or not !:) It doesn’t appear to be him acting out towards her, just going on with the usual. Okay, I need to get back to my babies. Till next time!Movie watching
watermelon eating

fun in the pool!

My babies

So, I really don’t have any story to blog about, just some pictures to share. I found 2 dresses that were mine as a baby that fit Lucy. It is the yellow dress and red dress. They were made by my grandmother.

Lucy is here!!!!

July 13, 2007

Well, Lucy arrived about 2:46pm, Thursday, July 12th. She weighed 7lbs 6oz. And of course we think she is just beautiful. We are currently hanging out in our hospital room. thankfully i have a husband that is savvy with computers and so we are able to be online wireless 🙂 i will work on some more pictures when we get home, but until then my sweet husband has posted a blog complete with pictures. you can find his link to the right (Nathan) So far we are all doing very well.

Well, only 1 day to go……it is all so not real to me right now. I haven’t the slightest idea of what to expect! I have been so excited at the idea of not being pregnant and what that will feel like that I haven’t had much time to think about what that will mean to me, to Nathan, to Eli and to us as a family. Today is the last day we will be a family of 3. Tomorrow will start a whole new chapter in our lives. Oh my……. So, these pictures were taken by the lovely Whitney L. They were taken last weekend and I love them. She does such a great job. They might be the only pictures of me pregnant this time around!! Beside a few snap shots here and there. So, next time I post, unless I encounter a great photo opportunity between now and bedtime, the next time I post will be to introduce everyone to lil miss lucy ann.

Preparing for Lucy

July 7, 2007

As you may or may not know, we are having Lucy this Thursday! soooo, I have been trying to get Lucy’s room in some kind of order and finally made a little progress last week. I was able to get the closet cleaned out and boy was it long over due!! It was full of clothes that Eli grew out of many many months ago. It felt great! So, here are some pictures of her room. The dollhouse furniture was mine when I was growing up. I like it, but it definitely shows it’s age. That being said, if anyone out there knows someone that might be able to re-paint it and update it a bit, I would love to talk to you. For now, it is great. I have also included a picture of the doll Lucy recieved as a gift. This is her first doll. Isn’t it cute? I guess that’s all for now. I hope to get a few things hung on the wall and a few other little details done this week, but I guess she won’t mind if I don’t 🙂

Eli has become very interested in Lucy’s bed recently. My guess is because I have used it to store clothes and blankets and when guest come over we go look and oo and aww. He loves to get in there and hold up clothes and say “Oooh, pwretty” It’s really cute. Well, yesterday I was cleaning up in her room and Eli climbed into her bed with no help! I turned around and there he was so proud of himself, jumping up and down. A part of me was proud that he figured it out and did it, however the other part of me put a baby gate up to keep him out of there. I started have visuals of him climbing in there when she is in there! O, what fun times are just around the corner 🙂
